Igneous phosphate deposits are much safer for the environment because they contain far less heavy metals than sedimentary phosphate deposits!
Although igneous phosphate deposits are extremely rare especially in North America... there is a major push for the U.S. and Canadian governments to only allow development of igneous phosphate deposits moving forward!
