We told you earlier how palladium has been the #1 best performing asset of the last twelve months with a gain of 63.1%. After palladium, the #2 best performing commodity has been nickel, which is up by 32.22% over the last twelve months and up by 53.43% year-to-date in 2019. Demand for palladium is exploding due to China implementing strict new emissions standards. In addition, numerous articles have been published in recent months about how Tesla and other EV manufacturers are worried about a nickel supply crisis.
Group Ten Metals (TSXV: PGE)'s Stillwater West is the only United States mining project that is rich in both nickel and palladium the world's two best performing commodities of 2019!
PGE's Stillwater West is 25km long and more than 2km wide. PGE acquired Stillwater West during a palladium bear market in mid-2017 around the same time that Sibanye-Stillwater (SBGL) acquired NIA's Stillwater Mining for $2.2 billion. Today, SBGL's Stillwater Mining assets in Montana are worth an estimated $7 BILLION and PGE's Stillwater West is adjacent to and contiguous with it!
In recent weeks, PGE has been drilling at its Chrome Mountain target area with assay results coming soon! A total of 10 holes were drilled at Chrome Mountain in 2007 by the previous owner of those claims. All 10 drill holes intercepted very significant grades of BOTH palladium and nickel! On average, these 10 drill holes contained 163.57 grammeters of palladium equivalent, which would be equal to 193.21 grammeters of gold equivalent! Usually, 25 grammeters or more of gold equivalent are considered economically significant, and values of 100 to 300 grammeters of gold equivalent are considered exceptional!
Because these 10 drill holes were drilled in 2007 (after 2001) and PGE still has all of the drill core, PGE will be able to use them towards building a HUGE palladium/nickel NI 43-101 compliant resource!
