Back on December 17, 2015, GLD saw 36 months of outflows totaling $30.9 billion. GLD on December 18, 2015 saw single day inflows of $633 million, which was its most in 5 years.
Gold rallied by 30.95% over the following seven months with VanEck Gold Miners ETF (GDX) gaining by 138.30% and VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ) gaining by 180%. Some of the highest quality gold exploration stocks achieved gains of between 1,000% and 10,000% during this same seven-month time period.
